We need an ambitious, highly-skilled and hands-on accounting leader to both direct and re-design the day-to-day accounting functions for our growing 60+ store retail organization. Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting and Business Systems, this individual will identify and implement new software and best practices to modernize our Accounting department and proactively accommodate future growth. At the same time, he or she will manage our current P2P functions and several direct reports, so strong leadership and mentorship skills are essential.
What You’ll Do:
Manage and improve the full-cycle accounting function
Design and implement effective internal controls and processes to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, integrity of data, and safeguarding of assets
Own month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and analysis of accounts
Support the CFO and department heads by providing, budget tracking and analysis and streamlined payables processes.
Assure successful internal and external audits
Develop a high functioning efficient and responsive team through strategic hiring, performance management, and process optimization
What You'll Bring:
Broad understanding of business processes and all areas of retail accounting in a privately-held company
Ability to interpret, analyze, and organize complex information, such as contracts and service agreements, providing key information to support decision making
Ability to drive new policies and procedures for a rapidly growing company in a collaborative way
Obsessiveness about meeting deadlines and following through on commitments
Love of problem-solving, with ability to perform root cause analysis, provide options, and implement solutions
Adaptability to changing business requirements with proven success working in a growth environment
Strong organizational skills and excellent oral/written communication skills
Excellent expert-level Excel skills
BS/BA in Accounting, or related field
5-10 years relevant experience
